I accept the fact that Italy is a pretty country of massive history and culture and that this is going to have a big effect on it's films however, most Italian films I have watched have focused more on showing off their style, culture, sex factor etc.

than on making a film with a good story. Let's face it, while this might look nice, a story about an old playboy who decides to reflect on his life and starts asking himself philosophical questions is hardly an interesting topic.
