Review of The Greasy Strangler (2016) by Clinton P — 29 Sep 2016
This is a crazy movie, in all the best ways. It is dark and funny and shocking to the sensibilities. It is difficult to describe, but perhaps you could think of it as a cross between Napoleon Dynamite, Eating Raoul and the Odd Couple.
Perhaps it could be better described by the audience reactions during the screening I caught at the Sidewalk Film Festival: the audience was either staring open-mouthed at the screen in shock, or laughing uproariously.
Sometimes, we were trying to do both at the same time. This is not a film for people who just want some standard Hollywood fare to manipulate your emotions as entertainment, but it was a great experience to share with all your rowdy friends.
