Review of The Grapes of Wrath (1940) by Franzisko R — 10 May 2014
A well made movie adaptation to John Steinbeck`s novel, The Grapes of Wrath is a realistic and moving drama that provides an insight of the hardships experienced by a poor Oklahoma family who risks everything to leave their ravaged home behind and start a new life in California during the great depression, but when they arrive they realize that it is not the promised land everyone had said it was.
Instead, it is a depressed place filled with hostile people who dislike the immigrants. The ending felt somewhat abrupt, but overall a great movie.
