Review of The Grandmaster (2013) by Ramen C — 29 Aug 2013
"The GrandMaster" is undoubtedly the most Beautiful Movie I have seen this Year ,It can be greatest Ode to Kung Fu.Poetic in every scene with Visuals that are radiant ,delightful and extremely marvelous even three adjective feels like less.
The Movie is biopic of IP MAN once great Kung Fu Master who lived in china ,to ring bells he was master of legendary Bruce Lee.The Movie flows monotonously but this monotony you will surely fall in love too, with as mentioned visuals ,and music that elegantly brace the visuals making you a part of that era ,economically filled with spoken words and when spoken ,spoken with depth and followed by silences that let you contemplate on the sense of what was said.
Though Plot Flawed in many parts still there are extraordinary sub-plots that create sense of empathy, warmth and melancholy with such amazing ease. Most Laudable and bewitching performances which are stirring in most sequences.
This is a pure art and art is not for all.
