Review of The Grand Budapest Hotel (2014) by Mark J — 28 Feb 2015
Weird, unfunny, boring, predictable story about a man who works at a fancy hotel and the mystery of a dead woman. I wanted to like this movie, I really did but I almost had to strap myself to my chair to keep on watching it.
It had some stupendous cast members but apart from that it makes me want to throw up. The attempts at jokes were laughable because of how not funny they were, and the plot got thrown in the trash because of how much they were trying to show how different they were.
And different it was but not in a good way. In the end, I was left very unsatisfied wondering how I managed to get through the 100 minutes of the movie. I can sort of tell how some people may have enjoyed it but everything that I value in a film is avoided in this movie.
