Review of The Graduate (1967) by Steven P — 19 Jun 2014
The Graduate induced this emptiness within me and I felt naked and hollow. Being a high-achieving schlub, having everyone cheering for you, yet with no purpose for yourself, no destination for the future, you only hear one word, plastic.
The only two things I remember from Ben were his clueless stare and his stupid-is-as-stupid-does screech, but they echoed so well within me, as well as the "are you here for an affair" fantasy and the crazy stupid love with an all-american girl Elaine.
This is not just about the plastics. This is a classic that you have to see.
