Review of The Graduate (1967) by Carl W — 20 May 2012
A classic whose time has passed. Dustin Hoffman is great, and Mike Nichols directing is perfect for the film. A confused college graduate seduced by an older woman, and falls for her daughter as the affair goes on, Ben (Hoffman) and the woman's daughter attempt for love is threatened by the woman's rage.
Great dialouge, and clever editing makes it a visual masterwork. Truly one of the greatest ever made. It isn't overrated, it is respected. It gives us a look on something that scares all young men, which is, older women.
Sexual attraction can go on for so long, until it turns into terror.
