"The Graduate" is not only impeccably scripted and perfectly acted, it is also, in a subtle way, absolutely hilarious. The interaction between Dustin Hoffman and Anne Bancroft is priceless. Every scene the two are in together in the first act is totally, brilliantly awkward, and the complete discomfort of Benjamin (Dustin Hoffman) is so fun to watch and enjoy.
Simon & Garfunkel were brought to fame with their soundtrack here, which is amazing. I love this movie so, so much. It's mainstream and artsy. Chillingly dramatic and hilarious. It's "The Graduate". It's in my top 10 films of all time.
