Review of The Graduate (1967) by Veronika M — 15 Mar 2011
Well what can one say about the graduate that hasn't already been said over and over again. a quintessential don't know what to do next movie. brilliant theme. the performance by Dustin hoffman was epic and every person who sees this movie can probably put himself in his shoes. I mean, everyone at one point of time or the other has been confused as to the direction in which his life is heading and that one scene where he just lazes around in the pool contemplating his life is just amazing. I have got to say that mrs robinson really steals the show by being the most interesting character on screen. a very memorable movie, in which every frame is visually very accessible to the audience. but I do have to add that it is the incendiary music of simon and garfunkel that truly makes this movie the classic it is today. there is nothing more I can say about the performances or the plot or the themes that haven't already been told.
Definitely a top all round movie that everyone should watch once or in my case ten times.
