Review of The Graduate (1967) by Adam C — 02 Jun 2011
"Watch it", they said, "You're a film student, aren't you?". Sure, from that perspective I understand what made this movie such a hit. The editing, the cinematography, the score, all fantastic.
The plot itself, however, kept hitting this chord within my brain that made me hate Dustin Hoffman. And I never thought I'd find myself saying that. He put himself in the shoes of his character quite well, and as screwed up as he was there was a point to it all, but I kept finding myself pondering how the actors went from the original script to the way they performed in a lot of the scenes.
This wasn't for me.
