Review of The Graduate (1967) by Miguel C — 24 Mar 2013
Many movies try to tackle the subject of loneliness and the downward decent into unpredictability that follows, but all of them owe a lot of their stories to The Graduate, a movie that gets every detail 100% right.
This is a film perfect for those who have experienced depersonalization and the feeling that you are in limbo that it brings, as life keeps trying to tie you down and only the thought of something big or at the very least different can bring you motivation to move on.
On a technical aspect, this movie is fantastic as well. The acting is solid and Mike Nichols' direction is on-point. His decision to have sound from the next scene start towards the end of the current one gives the feeling that every menial task blurs together.
This is a film very much worthy of its status as a classic.
