Review of The Graduate (1967) by Louisa T — 16 Aug 2015
We might as well have been shaking hands.
A recent college graduate returns home to many accolades from his friends and family. He always had a crush on the girl next door; but unfortunately, she never had a crush on him...but her mom does, Mrs. Robinson. The college grad begins a torrid, ugly affair with Mrs. Robinson that destroys his life. Can the graduate find a way out of this mess and back to his dream girl?
"You are a degenerate!".
Mike Nichols, director of The Birdcage, Charlie Wilson's War, Closer, Working Girls, Biloxi Blues, Wolf, Primary Colors, and Silkwood, delivers The Graduate. The storyline for this picture is magnificent and very well told. The acting and dialogue is remarkable and the soundtrack is an all time great. The cast was remarkable and the cast includes Dustin Hoffman, Katharine Ross, Brian Avery, and Anne Bancroft.
"What do you think of me?".
I am ashamed I had never seen this but was excited to see this was coming on Movies! and DVR'd it. This is an all time classic masterpiece that is worth having in your DVD collection. This is a very smart and well done gem.
"I can make things quite unpleasant.".
Grade: A.
