Review of The Gospel (2005) by Meschelle M — 06 Oct 2005
?The? Gospel stars Boris Kodjoe as David an upcoming R& B singer on the top of his career. When he receive a telephone call that his father (Chifton Powell) the Bishop is sick he returns home to his roots and the church. David soon learns his childhood foe is next in line to take over his father?s church and have married his cousin. David must fight with himself, his family and God to make peace.
This is an enjoyable movie and that will appeal to the moviegoers as well as the choir. As with a good sermon, it is appealing, goes all-out to inspire, and welcomes the love, which the religion was based on. Audiences should not be disappointed. Go see it.
