Review of The Goods: Live Hard, Sell Hard (2009) by Sharan S — 19 Dec 2009
"The Goods" was a silly but stupid comedy. Now don't get me wrong, the film has plenty of laughs, but the movie itself was just stupid. Jeremy Piven plays Don Reddy, a man-for-hire cars salesmen who goes around and sells cars for failing auto dealerships.
He is faced with the huge task of selling 200+ cars over a 3 day weekend. And then the movie happens. A few "hahaha" jokes here and there. The film really belongs to Ed Helms and Craig Robinson, who provide the film with most of its laughs.
Ving Rhames would come in at a close third. I mean, this is definately a movie for fans of "Talladega Nights" and "Step Brothers", just don't expect anything nearly as good as those movies.
Overall, a fair comedy.
