Review of The Goods: Live Hard, Sell Hard (2009) by Brian P — 24 Jan 2010
I will recommend this movie to some of my friends. I will recommend that some of my friends not watch this movie under any circumstances.
I liked "The Goods". Yes, this film takes turns being offensive, irreverent, corny, predictable, and politically incorrect. But there are also times I laughed so hard I had to wipe tears from my eyes. (Hint: Those parts had Will Farrell in them.).
So, be warned. When the rating screen shows that the "R" rating is due, in part, to pervasive languange, it is indeed pervasive. Also, "The Goods" fits somewhere better "Caddyshack" and the better "Airplane" movies in terms of camp and silliness. But then I have the feeling that the makers of this movie weren't going for "Annie Hall" type humor here. I can imagine them viewing the end product with satisfaction.
