Review of The Good, the Bad and the Ugly (1966) by Lawrence L — 05 Feb 2016
The perfect and greatest spaghetti Western ever made. Even the musical score by Ennio Morricone is legendary. Sergio Leone's masterpiece is the gold standard that all other Westerns are measured against. This film broke Clint Eastwood as a star. Eastwood's Man With No Name character is his creation and iconic.
As the last of the Leone "The Man With No Name" trilogy, it is but the best. Long, but a fine reflection of the time, the late 19th century in the American West.
The film is one of the greatest ever made, and is on many top 100 lists; well deserved.
