Review of The Good, the Bad and the Ugly (1966) by Eduardo G — 19 Jan 2016
This is probably the best western of all time. Even though this movie was made almost 50 years ago, it still holds up beautifully. Sergio Leone does a masterful job directing this movie. What left me speechless is how well this movie was shot.
It featured breathtaking landscapes and the cuts and the angles were amazing, especially in the Mexican standout. Ennio Morricone creates one of the best scores of all time, that contain legendary songs in the film industry.
Of course no movie is good without stellar acting and this movie has just that. The on scree trio of Clint Eastwood, Eli Wallach and Lee Van Cleef all gave us memorable performances. The plot is very engaging and the movie is not choppy at all, with every single moment being engaging.
Of course the movie is not perfect, no movie is, but it's the closet a movie can get to perfection and that is why I give it a perfect score.
