Review of The Good, the Bad and the Ugly (1966) by Jacob — 28 May 2015
The Good, the Bad, and the Ugly is the best of the Dollars trilogy. Rather than put the talented gunslinger against dumb criminals three talented gunslingers are all bitted against each other. This results in a story that stands out from the others.
We already know that these guys are awesome so putting them up against regular bad guys doesn’t create a lot a tension but when these guys are up against each other there is a lot more tension. All of this results in a quite suspenseful and engaging climax, which, like most of the action in the film, is intense as the film takes time to build up the action as well ass create atmosphere and tension resulting in one of the most entertaining westerns.
