Review of The Good Son (1993) by Ray D — 29 Nov 2008
Long before PARTY MONSTER, this film gave those of us who secretly suspected Macaulay Culkin was evil all the ammunition we needed, in this 90's riff on the old 'Bad Seed' tale. Plus, he's trying to kill Elijah Wood! What sort of monster would do that? Some good support work from the adult actors (Notably David Morse, who at this point I would watch read the phone book) makes the overwrought melodrama in this one go down easier.
It ain't the GREAT son, but it doesn't have to be. (Oy, that joke was terrible, sorry).
