Review of The Good Shepherd (2006) by Noel K — 11 Apr 2009
Nice fictional account of the birth of the CIA based on real life events and prominent spies (and spy catchers) during the early years of the cold war. De Niro does a good job of directing and the screenplay by Eric Roth (Forrest Gump, Munich, The Insider) is terrific (weaving flashbacks and the main plot, finding the leak that caused the Bay Of Pigs invasion to fail).
Joe Pesci makes an appearance after a long absence in the movies.
