Its not uplifting, this story about a man who was central to the beginings but that you wont come away from feeling greatly informed, stories threads pop up & others just disappear while other bits are left unexplained .

. doesn't sound great and yet Damon's odd understated central performance and the film are oddly compelling. Its 2.30am and rather than record it it's kept me up. It has all the ingredients of a film not to be liked and yet it manages to be quite good - now if only I was still sleepy.
