Review of The Good Shepherd (2006) by Peter P — 23 Jul 2012
Decent slow burn spy movie, with good acting from Matt Damon and the rest of the cast. I found this really interesting, especially because I had to the chance to watch the HBO movie, The Company, first which covers some of the same material concerning "Mother", so this gave me a good grounding to look at one of the CIA's most feared minds operating in the cold war era.
He is an interesting man, brilliant, yet sad, and although he is working for the "good guys" comes off as a villain quite often just the same. DeNiro did a good job directing this, although the pacing is a little too slow in parts, but overall it is a very good movie.
