Review of The Good Shepherd (2004) by Halimali H — 31 Oct 2009
I was surprised at first at how accurately the film portrayed the interactions of the priest and his superiors, despite having the constant distraction of seeing Slater as a priest - a bit miscast, to say the least.
But while that be the case, I have to say that he rose to the occasion admirably. The characters were interesting, and most of them believable, but unfortunately, the plot began showing signs of strain early on.
The cast did their best, but by the last third of the film, it was obvious that this ship was sinking quickly. The pat ending was no surprise, and I was left with the feeling that I had pretty much wasted another hour and a half of my life.
Too bad. I really wanted to like this film.
