Review of The Good Neighbor (2016) by Greg P — 12 Dec 2016
People see what they are looking for. The movie could of had a chance if it weren't for the director and the remedial high school millennial acting. During the film I asked myself 10 time, "I wonder if these actors know who they are acting with? This guy was Sonny frickin Corleone! James Caan was this film.
He didn't say much but when he did, he changed the film for the best. The film was an excellent concept and not predictable. It was suspenseful and riveting. Again however, it was drug down my the pathetic youth actors.
The movie could be a 4 if the director, kid actors and screenplay had been more mature. You have an actor like James Caan who can do thriller/horror (Misery) and you flub it up like this. The film had so much potential.
It was entertaining, a great idea and worth seeing just to see how good James Caan is. I liked the movie and enjoyed where it took me. The children made it a rough ride though. People see what they are looking for.
Redo the film again with James Caan and look for a real director and you would have seen a 4 to 5 star film. Good watching!
