Review of The Good Lie (2014) by Private U — 18 Jan 2015
The Good Lie is a disarming movie. It moves you to tears and shows you both the terrors the Sudanese refugees face in their own country and their discomfort in settling down in USA. While somewhat simplistic in plot, the 3 male actors did a brilliant job (i hear two are actually lost boys) and the story stayed firmly on them.
I wish all countries were as open, welcoming and tolerant as the US protagonists are in this movie. Keep the Kleenex handy.
