Review of The Good Lie (2014) by Moya W — 19 Mar 2015
I was genuinely hoping that this would be a new "The Blind Side" but it wasn't. The first half hour was set in Africa and maybe it was there to make us feel compassion for "The Lost Boys" but it didn't really work on me.
When all of a sudden Reese Witherspoon came into the story she didn't carry it the same way that Sandra Bullock did in The Blind Side. I needed more compassion and empathy. I needed the bond between Reese Witherspoon and The Lost Boys to be stronger because I didn't really feel their chemistry.
I was hoping for a tearfelt journey but it wasn't really there to be honest.
