Review of The Good Lie (2013) by Jason M — 30 May 2015
Touching and heartbreaking film about unbelievable brutality that has been endured by so many during civil wars in Africa. So much suffering and death and so little intervention by the US and Europe when we insert ourselves into other conflicts.
The burecracy that is encountered by the family and their horror some of the values in our society such as throwing away food while people go hungry in the street are questioned by many of us. I loved that the main characters were played by actual Sudanese refugees.
I hope a time comes when families are no longer torn apart by violence and death.
