Review of The Good Lie (2013) by Jason C — 03 Feb 2015
This movie is not at all what it appears to be in the trailer. However, that doesn't make it a bad movie. The first 30minutes or so of the movie takes place in the Sudan and some of the "lost boys" journey to America.
Reese Witherspoon doesn't even appear in this movie until probably almost an hour in. All of the actors did a good job though. The story is definitely a compelling one and they do a good job of mixing in the humor with the sad/depressing/harsh moments.
The ending, while it probably wasn't true, it making for good storytelling as it brought the story full circle and make the most sense, logically. I wouldn't necessarily recommend this movie if you are looking to see a Reese witherspoon movie as she is barely in it.
Again, it's still an above average film.
