Review of The Good Girl (2002) by Ian W — 19 Jan 2008
I can't say it was a BAD movie, but I will say that I really didn't like it. In fact, it depressed the hell out of me. It definitely had emotional impact, similar to but darker than Chasing Amy. Unfortunately, the pacing was weak and created some boring moments in between the damned uncomfortable ones. Gyllenhaal and quite ably portrayed unlikable personalities.
Moral of the story: if you're depressed, stay home and smoke some weed. Trust Mike White (the writer): it'll turn out better that way.
