Review of The Good German (2006) by Thuyen N — 29 Dec 2008
Saw this one the same day I saw Benjamin Button, so two Blanchett performances in one day...too bad both movies kinda sucked. This one is fun for all the noir-esque scenes and the tension of the time (post-WWII Berlin), but you expect much much better from Soderbergh, Clooney, and Blanchett.
The homage to Casablanca and other great old movies is nice, but it reminds you how good those flicks were and how bad this one is.
