Review of The Good German (2006) by John L — 02 Jan 2009
An interesting throwback to Post-WWII film noir. For the most part, it is very true to the era, but even more raw to reach the even more disillusioned generation of today. It even includes that classic interior monologue style, although shifting from the view of one character to another to another was not as effective a story-telling technique as it could have been.
The casting also could have been much better. Tobey MacGuire and George Clooney were frankly annoying as leads. Overall, it was okay but left much to be desired.
