Doesn't quite work. All the parts are there but they don't add up to the classic movie the Director is obviously aiming for. Makes you yearn to watch The Third Man and Casablanca again just to see how it's done.
Toby Maguire miscast and George Clooney wooden, nice accent from Cate Blanchett who probably wants to be alone. Shame, it is a nice idea.
