Review of The Good Earth (1937) by Brenden B — 07 May 2011
A truly moving portrait of survival by learning to live by, love, and hate the land that provides for him so generously. The downside? Most of the actors playing Asians...are played obviously by westerners.
Luise Rainer disappears easily into her Asian persona...Paul Muni...not so much.
