Review of The Good Dinosaur (2015) by Jamey D — 07 Jul 2016

This is not a bad movie. It's a decent Pixar classic, but I do feel the storytelling and dinosaur characters are a bit weak. I think they should have given the people behind this the ability to really showcase this kind of world, because there was a lot of potential here. I do really like the Spot character. He's a blast. The animation on this film does indeed break new ground in the field, so there's an accomplishment. But the story is nothing new; we've already seen animation do the "lost dinosaur finds his way home" idea twice, first with The Land Before Time in 1988, and then with Disney's other Dinosaur film in 2000.

See it if you want, but don't forget their masterpiece Inside Out.
