Review of The Golden Fortress (1974) by Martin T — 14 Jul 2008
Ray's first "Felunath" detective story (the other one being Joi Baba Felunath) is a real hoot. Suprisingly suspenseful and exciting with fairly intricate plotting and engaging characters.
Some of the humor was lost on me because it depended on linguistic oddities, but for the most part it works beautifully. Not a typical Ray film by any means (except for Soumitra Chatterjee), but a fun one.
