Review of The Golden Compass (2007) by Caleb C — 21 May 2012

A noble effort with good casting and scrumptuous art direction that is marred by a heavy handed script and executive meddling. New Line Cinema took what could have been a truly original and invigorating film and edited it into a predictable and less than engaging "spectacle".

What was shot may have its flaws, but a director's cut would no doubt make vast improvements.
