Review of The Golden Compass (2007) by Sophiem — 07 Dec 2007
This was a good start to the trilogy and should not be a serious disappointment to any fans of Pullman's trilogy. The last 3 chapters of the book were not included in this first of the three movies but will be at the start of the next one.
A bit of a shock to anyone who knows the story, but hopefully it will be worth the wait until The Subtle Knife comes out in a couple of years! Dakota Blue Richards does a great job as Lyra- in fact, most of the characters are really well cast.
