Review of The Gold Rush (1925) by Will S — 14 Jun 2007
This is the one where Chaplin eats his shoe and performs a dance number using some forks and dinner roles. It's very funny and sad in that distinctly Chaplin way. Chaplin's depiction of snowy Alaska was especially impressive for the silent era, and for my money, the teetering cabin scene is Chaplin's best comic set piece.
