Review of The Gold Rush (1925) by Trent J — 19 Aug 2009
Though far more concerned with story and general continuity than modern joke-movies like Step Brothers and Forgetting Sarah Marshall, let's be honest here: Chaplin didn't make The Gold Rush to analyze the travels of prospectors.
The film is hilarious and has a heart in the right place, but it would be revisionist to declare this as anything but a well-suited vehicle for the Tramp.
