The genius of Chaplin is on full display in this classic. From his command of physical comedy, to the sympathy he generates for his initially ridiculed character makes for a well-rounded, extremely satisfying triumph of the underdog over very long odds.
Chaplin's dance using dinner rolls is not to be missed. I now have 36 unseen films left in AFI's top 100 list.
