"The Gold Rush" is Charlie Chaplinâ??s classic masterpiece about the hardships of life on the Alaskan frontier. It is the film he most wanted to be remembered by. It is certainly the most dated as far as film elements are concerned.
Throughout the movie I kept wondering whether it was properly framed for the DVD release as some of the title cards used to convey the dialogue were heavily cutoff on the left-hand side. Next up: "City Lights".
