Review of The Gold Rush (1925) by Steve S — 24 Oct 2007
**** (out of four).
This is not just one of the greatest silent films ever made, but it ranks amongst the best films of all time. It is the perfect film for anyone who wonders about what made Charlie Chaplin great and would like to see him at his best. It features one classic moment after another.
Charlie is a man living in the cold and depressing Klondike. He is hoping, like everyone else, to strike it rich with a Gold discovery.
The film has everything...except sound :).
