Review of The Godsend (1980) by Bill M — 04 Jun 2018
Holy fuck what a snore fest his movie is. With bad horror or genre movies you at least hope for one totally outlandish or WTF moment to at least make it worthwhile in some small way, and I was hoping right up till the end that this fucking unbelievably boring trudge of a movie would have a little extra something up its sleeve (like the Clint Howard staring EvilSpeak, which is an hour and bit of comatose dullness followed by a final 15 minute explosion of complete fucking lunacy that almost redeems the whole thing) sadly there are no such little nuggets of midnight movie madness hidden away here.
Whats surprising is that this is a "Cannon Films" production, usually anything with those lovable Israeli hucksters Menahem Golan and Yoram Globus's names on it is worth a punt because what is often lacking in actual quality is made up for in sincere trashy, b-movie nuttiness, but alas this is a decidedly sedate affair from the cousins production line.
This crappy Omen rip off is a waste of time.
