This is one of my favorite sleeper movies ever. It is not a big budget film. And, they produced it using a unique style. What I got from this film was a chance to explore the possible effect of introducing materialism into a people for the first time.
It's a really cute movie. Also, FYI: I bought the dvd and got The Gods must be Crazy I and II on the same cd. I was surprised that my daughter and I both liked II almost as much, if not more, than the original.
And, we absolutely loved the original. There is also a III. I would be interested to see that one,too. Although, as I recall, I think the reviews weren't as good for the 3rd one. But, definitely give this movie a try.
