Review of The Godfather Part III (1990) by Malcolm D — 19 Mar 2011
It's a shame that The Godfather Part 3 wasn't given the same care and attention to detail as the first 2. My first and foremost complaint is that they didn't provide the necessary character arc for the protagonist, which is a real shame after they spend two 3 hour movies following the slow decline of Michael Corleone only to just magically have him remorseful in the third film. A third part was necessary but it needed to be well thought out and the film makers themselves needed to respect the characters they spent so long developing.
The love scenes are sloppy and the intense scenes are badly handled, the ending did offer some nostalgia but as a whole The godfather Part III falls very short of expectation.
