The death of Mary is like the death of Santino, history repeats itself. Yet what has been improved in this third generation, is that Vincent had a choice, unlike Michael. But of course, Vito also had a choice.
Things had changed in New York, the way of making money, the way of life, culture, it has been highlighted constantly throughout the trilogy. An amazing move to not like it!
