Review of The Godfather Part III (1990) by Emily J — 17 Feb 2012
I watched the entire trilogy over the course of three consecutive weekends, so 1 and 2 were still fresh in my mind when I watched 3. It did a good job tying up the loose ends in Michael Corleone's quest to achieve legitimacy for himself and his family.
Once he thinks he's out, he keeps getting pulled back in. Despite his amassed wealth, his world is falling apart; his health is failing, he is haunted by past sins, turned on by his closest allies, and his family is running amok.
The only major disappointment is that the very end (last 30 seconds) is not consistent with the rest of the movie.
