Review of The Godfather Part III (1990) by Jackson W — 13 Apr 2012
A very hollow and uneventful second sequel that doesn't even feel like a Godfather movie more than half the time. The Italian zeal that made the first two shine were exchanged for Catholic and musical gimmicks that made the story pale.
Most blame Sofia Coppola's performance, and she was bad, but the whole part of Mary Corleone and her utterly repulsive inner-family relationship with her first cousin was only one part of what made the film inferior.
The only survivor is Al Pacino, and his range of emotion and retrospective grief that drives him to the grave for his family.
