Review of The Godfather Part III (1990) by Mitch T — 08 May 2012
Okay, well my first reaction when watching this movie for the first time was that it was not even close to being better than Godfather or Godfather Part 2. However, after watching it again many times, and really thinking about it. This might be the best plot of the whole trilogy. Here is a situation where Michael is trying to make himself innocent and legitimate for his family, and it is because he is trying to do this that his daughter ends up dead, and he loses everyone in his life. By trying to protect his family, he loses them.
Also, the best scene in the movie was when Vincent Mancini fights the two contract killers in his apartment. I thought Andy Garcia was the best actor in this movie ,and his character added a sense of cavalier, enforcer type attitude that the series was lacking in Al Pacino's character, but Sonny had that ability.
When it comes to the Godfather movies, even if you wanted to recreate these movies in 2012, it would not be possible because people don't think the same as they used to. The world is much more liberal than it was back then, and people with extravagant lifestyle's like this don't exist anymore, and if they do, you don't hear from them.
I think all three movies in the trilogy are equal, you can't rank them. However, I just want people to realize that Godfather Part III is a GOOD movie, and a nostalgic one at that, being released in 1990.
