Review of The Godfather Part III (1990) by Keith T — 20 Jan 2013
I see a lot of reviews saying this is the weakest film in the Godfather Trilogy, but I enjoyed it more than I did Part 2, probably because it doesn't keep changing Timelines. The way Part 3 builds to its magnificent Operatic climax is just gorgeous and I love its take on what happened to Pope John Paul the First.
Mario Puzo is supposed to have based his novel on the story of The Borgias, and here in Michael Corleone's dealings with some of the darker element of the Vatican, the trilogy returns to its spiritual home.
